Saturn Night At Fox # 1 -

On Saturday, Feb 28, I conducted the first in a series of (Saturn) night presentations at Fox Observatory, located at Markham Park, Sunrise (Ft. Lauderdale), Florida.

Fox Observatory is home of the South Florida Amateur Astronomers Assoc, founded in 1965. The Observatory is regularly open to the public every Saturday evening, and is manned by volunteer members.

On this particular evening, I learned of several students whom have never seen Saturn before in a telescope! By the time they left, they not only seen Saturn, its rings, nearly "edge-on", and its satellites, they also learned that a spacecraft is orbiting Saturn, Cassini!

What doesn't surprise this SOC member is the wide range of age/grade level students, whom didn't even know Cassini is in orbit around Saturn!
